Knowing that I needed to kick-start my fitness again after almost a year at home with very little exercise (hello pandemic!), I was not yet ready to go to a gym.  After seeing a post on Facebook about a fitness challenge Kristina was doing, I reached out to her. When we connected, she spoke with me about my health goals – fitness and otherwise – and asked me what I thought I was looking for in an exercise regimen.  We agreed that the challenge was probably not the right fit for me.  From years of experience, I knew that I needed accountability – an appointment and a person who would push me out of my comfort zone.  The challenge was too self-driven.  Kristina suggested virtual training sessions, where she would train me over Zoom.  She took stock of what home equipment I had (which was limited) and she created a plan unique to my needs. 

Having complained to her about my aching back, she knew that the first step would be to work on my core strength.  Starting out slowly, she gradually assessed my fitness level and form.  Each new exercise introduced would be demonstrated by Kristina and then she would watch me (via video) do it.  Her ability to talk me through a correct posture or exercise without physically being in the same space was (and is) impressive.  She could describe where in my body I was supposed to be feeling an exercise and offer alternatives when it wasn’t quite feeling right.   As time went by and I became more attuned to my body and more comfortable doing the exercises, she started pushing me: more reps, or more weight, or creating compounding exercises to target more than one muscle group at a time.  As my core strengthened, my back started feeling better.  She found ways to continue to challenge me.  Each session with Kristina is unique and tailored to me.  If something doesn’t work well, she will offer me an alternative and won’t repeat it.  If something is going great, she applauds me and encourages me to push further.  She started incorporating cardio into my routines when I told her I needed to increase my fitness capacity. 

I have to say, after doing virtual sessions with her twice a week for almost a year, I am stronger than I’ve been in a VERY long time and more confident in my fitness abilities.  Being virtual saves me the time of a car ride, gives me the luxury of sleeping a little later, and enables me to get more out of my day.  Being a mom and working full-time out of the house, it is the perfect way to incorporate exercise into my routine without feeling too stretched.  She is also tremendously understanding when my toddler barges in and interrupts our sessions (being a mom of a toddler herself).

I would highly recommend Kristina as a personal trainer and even encourage you to try virtual!  I have trained with many individuals in person, but none seem to have taken the time to know me and my training needs as much as Kristina has virtually.  She is knowledgeable, personable and motivating.  I cannot say enough good things about her!

Looking for a sweet treat to curb your "sweet tooth"? I love this mango ice cream recipe. It's super easy, creamy (but vegan) and it's healthy!


  • 6 cups diced mangos (freeze before processing)

  • 1 cup light coconut milk

  • 1 tablespoon honey


  • 3 whole mangos will make approximately 6 cups of diced mangos for this recipe. I like using ripe mangos versus previously frozen mangos because they are much sweeter. You can use previously frozen mangos but you'll lose the sweetness. Freeze diced mangos for 5-6 hours.

  • Take frozen mangos with 1 cup of light canned coconut milk and add to a food processor. Continue to blend for a couple of minutes until the texture becomes smooth. 

  • Add 1 tablespoon of honey to the food processor and mix into ice cream. 



This recipe only requires TWO ingredients!


  • 5 ripe bananas (bruised bananas are best!)

  • 1 cup cacao chunks or nibs


  • Dice 5 ripe bananas and freeze for 5-6 hours. You can use previously frozen/packaged bananas but just like the mango ice cream recipe, you may lose the sweetness.

  • After slices are frozen, add them to a food processor. Blend until texture is smooth.

  • Add 1 cup of cacao chunks or nibs and fold them into the banana mixture.

  • EXTRA: You can drizzle a tablespoon of peanut butter
